— 07 / Lingering questions

The honest answers, up front.

Donating or receiving a piano is a real decision — physically, emotionally, financially. These are the questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Email us.

What kinds of pianos do you accept?

We accept most acoustic uprights, consoles, spinets, and grands in playable or restorable condition. We unfortunately can’t accept player pianos with non-functional player mechanisms, instruments with significant water or pest damage, or most digital pianos.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

88 Again is in the process of obtaining its 501(c)(3) determination. We provide a written acknowledgment of your donation at the time of pickup — fair market value for any tax deduction is determined by you with your tax advisor.

How long does pickup take?

We typically respond within four business days of your submission. If your piano is a fit, we schedule pickup within two to four weeks, depending on capacity and travel distance.

Who qualifies to receive a piano?

Families with a young musician, schools, community centers, and nonprofit programs. We prioritize households where cost is the primary barrier to having an instrument at home.

Where do you operate?

We’re just getting started. If you’re outside our immediate region but have a piano you’d like to donate or a program that needs one, reach out anyway — our network keeps growing.
